Leader Hints are designed to help guide a leader to some information that we want to “tease” out of the group.  They are not there for you to directly read to the participants.  People are significantly more likely to remember things they said or came up with, so your goal is to help direct them to that answer.

FINAL NOTE:  Our goal is to get to the [APPLICATION QUESTION] to help work with people through how to apply what God is doing in their life.

    INTRO:

    • Icebreaker: What is one of your favorite memories from childhood?

    REBUILD THE SERMON:

    • Consider your hectic routine and ask yourself: Does striving for worldly control ever conflict with making room for God’s guidance?
    • What does greatness mean to you personally, and how does Jesus’ definition of greatness challenge that understanding?
    • In what ways does the image of a child—open, trusting, and unburdened by ambition—resonate with you? Think about moments when you have felt vulnerable or open-hearted. Can embracing that childlike trust transform your approach to life?
    • When Jesus tells us to “deny ourselves and take up our cross,” what might that look like in your daily choices and responsibilities? Consider the tension between managing life’s pressures and surrendering control to God’s plan.
    • How do you understand the idea of “losing everything” as necessary for finding true life in Christ? Kent mentioned relinquishing personal ambition and daily distractions.
    • How does baptism symbolize the process of leaving behind an “old life” to live anew in Christ? Examine any transformational moments in your life when letting go of past habits or controls led to growth in faith.
    • In a world that values efficiency and control, what challenges do you face when attempting to “become like a child” in your trust for God?
    • Will reorienting your priorities—shifting focus from self-reliance to dependence on God—impact the way you handle everyday stresses?

    Application Question:

    • What is one practical step you can commit to taking this week that will help you trust God more fully—even when life feels overwhelmingly busy?
    • Take up prayer requests and pray together.

Would you be interested in learning more about joining our care team and praying for the needs of those in our church and caring for them?

I would like to have someone follow up with me and personally pray for my need with me. If selected, You will receive a phone call or text from one of our team member if you select this option

Do you live near Georgetown? this helps us to understand how best to serve you.
